So, I just priced out the house and have a bit of sticker shock. Almost $1k for the Arc soundbar? I need three of those, 4 Ones, 2 Fives, 1 Move for covered patio, and at least 1 sub. It's a new house, and I have more important projects lol

I'm hardwiring (dual tube amps) in the basement, but like the convenience of Sonos around the rest of the house.

Any other wifi options worth a damn? Denon or JBL?

Lastly, is 3.1 a thing? Thinking dual Sonos Fives, Arc, and sub in the living room, but worried it might be overkill. Any Sonos/wifi audio anecdotes would be greatly appreciated!

i had my sub on the back porch paired with 2 3s and it sounded amazing but i brought it in and connected it to the TV playbar and a couple of 1s.

the 1s are on sale (2 pack) all the time at costco and if you hit buyselltrade up (or your wife's buyselltrade) you can find deals all the time on 1s.

i dont have any 5s but can't imagine needing a stereo pair of them. i'd rather have smaller speakers sprinkled all over the house.

at the moment i have

2 1s in the big living room (stereo separated on the large bookshelf..perfect size and sound for the room)

1 1 in the kitchen

1 1 in the dining room

2 3s on the back porch

playbar, sub, 2 1s in the den w/ the big tv

1 1 in my home office

1 1 in our master bathroom.

1 1 used as a floater if we want to take it out by the pool or the front porch. its not designed to live outside.

if i ever find a good deal i would like to add at least 3 more 1s:

1 in the pool room
1 in the bar
1 in my wife's hair salon

Don't need arcs on every TV, the beam works just fine for connecting TV audio into Sonos system.

I'm sure 5s are great but it seems like they're more intended for standalone(paired even) use vs. a part of a home theater connected to a TV.

Been back and forth about rears for my living room setup and leaning more and more to in ceiling speakers for it hooked up to sonos amp.

Also the Symfonisk speakers from Ikea are a good replacement for 1s and are somewhat easier to hide depending on your setup.
