too bad texas' death penalty laws don't apply here

It needs to be shouted out and make what coverage available that pay is deducted from and any costs incurred in tracking down or anything else will not be absorbed and will be passed along to these hypocrites

"The remaining members of the Texas House of Representatives voted 76-4 on Tuesday morning to send for the missing lawmakers under a House rule that authorizes the chamber's sergeant-at-arms to find and arrest absentee members.
"As soon as they come back in the state of Texas, they will be arrested," Abbott said in an interview with local TV station KVUE ABC. "They will be cabined inside the Texas Capitol until they get their job done."
Abbott, who slammed the Democratic lawmakers for leaving the state, vowed to continue calling for special sessions "all the way up until election next year" to get the voting bill passed.
Texas is one of a number of Republican-led states pursuing new voting restrictions in the name of enhancing election security following former President Donald Trump's false claims that the presidential election last November was stolen from him through widespread fraud.

it should include 6 figure fines as well as removal from office for derilection of constitutional duties they swore to uphold
be nice if they could be considered as vacating their office and the governor can immediately appoint replacements to their seats

That's the next step ....docking their pay until they return. It would far better to see their expense reports refused .....Then the Democrats in Washington would house them in a parking garage and Jill can bring out cookies.
Imagine a greater amount of hypocrisy in one plane ...No masks and burning jet fuel for a needless trip, while adding tons of CO2 in their wake.

Well we are about to see if this is the same spineless GOP or if Abbott has grown a set. I am leaning toward him wussing out ,but I hope he follows through. Not getting my hopes up ,but we will see.

They left the state to avoid a quorum which is against the law. This happened before and when they came back they apprehended them and forced them to go to the House Chamber. It also resulted in an electoral bloodbath for Dems of both Houses in the next election. You just can't get folks to defend this kind of stuff and think it will work with voters that aren't hard core partisans. This is a gift to the GOP in Texas as Abbott just needs to keep calling Special Sessions until they come back and the longer they stay away the more damage they are doing to the Dem Party.

In Texas a House Rep makes $600/mo ($7200/yr). Don't think they will care about getting their pay docked as that flight probably cost as much as they all make combined in a month.
