Unfortunately for them there are too many resources in the ground for them to ever know peace.

Good. Who gives a frick? What authority did we have or do we have now to determine who runs that 14th century shithole?
The Saudi’s, the Pakistani’s, and the complete ineptitude of the CIA/FBI are what allowed September 11 to occur.

I’m not sure why you’re arguing with me. My first post in this thread was that it’s not our job to protect the Afghans from themselves

Thank you President TRUMP for ending the war.

The fact that Afghanistan is falling into Taliban hands so quickly is proof that we never should have occupied the country to begin with, and anything past establishing a base of operations to seek out and kill bin Laden and immediately abandoning it after he was taken out has been an immense waste of blood and taxpayer money.

The problem is that 95% of them couldn’t care less.

We should really re think our reliance on SOF forces, whom are by ever measure complete failures. Also, the CIA is completely incapable of predicting or influencing these events. Basically our most highly trained and highly funded military units and intelligence professionals are impotent.

I’m not. Just quoted your post. I’m arguing against anyone who thinks the United States should have any say in who governs any other nation.

I agree, it’s just impossible for me to think of all the resources and lives wasted for absolutely nothing and not get frustrated. In the 20 years there, we should’ve been able to do something to get them on their own feet. To top it off we pull out of Bagram airfield without even letting them know, just a huge slap in the face.

That isn’t true at all. The US has been advertising for months if not years that it was leaving Afghanistan, and our withdrawal from Bagram was enormously well documented by just about every media outlet on the planet for the past month. We and our NATO partners have been airlifting everyone out for weeks and weeks, and tearing down everything we couldn’t trust their 9th century society to handle.
Are you saying the Afghani’s didn’t know we were leaving?
