Roof question: overall roof looks ok but a few are bad (pics)

So a few of my shingles are looking a bit rough. Looking to squeeze a bit more out of the overall roof. Any products you can recommend to just seal or coat the shingle? Or am I stuck replacing individual shingles?

The best time to replace a roof is the day before it starts leaking. You're getting there...
Best best would be to replace individual shingles.
I've put roofing pitch/tar over spots before, but those are bigger areas.

The granulars are there to protect the asphalt from damage from the sun. Think of shingles like tires on a car. Over time tires have less treads and shingles have less granulars. This doesn’t mean the roof is getting ready to start leaking. A steeper roof is less likely to leak that a roof with less pitch.

Roof is a little over 20 years old.

What makes anyone think that a 20 year roof will be backed by the manufacturer?
You've got a few years left .... before the buckets are due in your living room.
If you have the coin ....buy a metal roof and enjoy....

I just ran the numbers on this, and architectural won out pretty significantly.
Metal- either standing seam (unattractive on my house and would be the only one in my whole neighborhood) or metal shingles (EDCO was the company we got quoted from) was going to cost 3x asphalt. It will probably last 2-3x as long. But it was just over $12/sqft (of roof, which thanks to a steep pitch and garage is pretty significantly larger than my living space under it even though I’m 2 stories) to put metal, and I do not have confidence that it is going to add any significant value to the home- the buyer has to want what you’re selling to pay for it. The first architectural shingle roof on this house stood for 23 years. I’m going to do way better financially over my lifetime by paying $33K for a roof today and replacing it in 20-25 years $99K today and letting it stand for the quoted 50-year warranty +/- whatever post-warranty time it stands.

20 years was about the lifespan of a 30 yr architectural roof. Louisiana is harsh on a roof. If you are having trouble now don’t wait for a storm. Then you may be replacing contents
