MOST of the HCs in the SEC do not like Wade...for various reason. Most notably, he is an "aggressive" recruiter (not just from a "pay the players" perspective. They ALL do that). In fact, I think Wade's on real "friend" among the league's coaches is Bruce Pearl. That is because both guys are very similar. Neither played college basketball. Both can be very animated. Neither particularly gives a shite about ruffling feathers.
On the player's side Wade lets his guys show emotion on the court and trash talk...CONSTANTLY (sometimes to LSU's detriment). I don't think they purposely set out to get a rep of "bad boys". But I don't think he cares if he and his team have that rep either. In fact, it looks like they are embracing it.

True and the LSU/Bama rivalry is about to become as big on the court as it is on the football field.
Jordy said on his show yesterday that Wade and Oats absolutely hate each other and not just based off what was seen publicly in games last year; but from statements made by both in private conversations to others.
I just hope Wade and LSU can get back the upper hand on that rivalry this year and shut Oats and his players up. But it will be tough as Bama will be very talented again this year and Oats is a really good coach.

The Piston's fully earned their reputation as Bad Boys on the court.
LSU is adopting as its identity Bad Boys for cheating in recruiting.
Not the same thing.
And what WW is doing is not good for LSU or its basketball program.
