Dreams about deceased loved ones

I've had a few dreams recently that were just a joy to wake up from.
Recently had a dream about my Maw Maw, who died a good 15 years ago. nothing weird in them like most dreams have random weird things in them. Just a family get together at her house like we always used to have, with her awesome cooking. It's like everyone in the dream is acting normal, yet i'm somewhat aware that this isn't normal b/c i know she's dead, but i don't care and just go on with it b/c i'm so happy to see her and continue on with the dream. When i wake up it feels awesome, like i got to spend time with her one last time.
and sad to say, but an even more awesome dream i've been having recently, this was the third one, was about seeing my dog we put down about a year and a half ago. He was my first dog i'd ever had. In all the dreams it's usually a weird dream full of jumbled up randomness, but then all of a sudden there's my dog, and we see each other and stop immediately what we are doing b/c we are surprised to see one another. He runs over to me excited as he can be and jumps all over me. Just an awesome feeling when you wake up.
Makes me wonder when i wake up how real the dream really was, like if I really communicated with them, and i don't really care how stupid that sounds and how unlikely that actually is b/c it's such a good feeling to see them, even if it is just a dream.
No i'm not on drugs, or ever have been.

Several times recently over the past few months, I've had dreams of a sexual nature with my late wife who died about ten years ago. It's a very pleasant encounter.

I treasure the dreams when I get to see my brother again. They don’t come often but when they do…
There’s more than just this. Somewhere, somehow

Never had this. Coming up on 8 years.

It's happened to me, and I don't know if it is typical, but while I'm aware of their presence in the dream, I never get to have conversations with them.

I've had dreams about dead friends and family members. Not as vivid as yours. But in the dreams, they weren't in any pain and I woke up with a sense of relief. Almost like I got to spend time with them even though it was all a dream.

I know it sounds crazy, but I know what you mean.
About 6 years ago, I had a vivid dream at my parents' house where I walked into the kitchen to see my dad and his 2 brothers arguing with each other. My grandpa, who died in 1995, was leaned up against the counter with his arms crossed just watching them. When grandpa noticed I had walked in, he smiled and winked at me.
I remember calling my grandma the next day and mentioned the dream in passing. She said that the day before was my grandpa's birthday (which I didn't realize), and he was just "checking in" on me. That still sticks with me.

Wow.
I woke up at 5 AM this morning from a dream about Pops 19 and had to walk outside to shake it off. I miss that man with my entire soul.
For you young pups, hug the old man when you can. I sure wish I could.

The film is loosely based on the 1891 novel of the same name by George du Maurier. A tale of a love that transcends all obstacles, it relates the story of two youngsters who are separated in childhood and then drawn together by destiny years later. Even though they are separated in real life because Peter is unjustly convicted of murder (it was actually self-defense), they discover they can dream themselves into each other's consciousness while asleep. In this way, they live out their lives together.

The only two deceased people I was close to that appear in my dreams are my grandmother who died in 1986 and my friend from high school that died in 1990. Those were the first two deaths of people I was close to that I had to deal with, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I lost a close friend in 2006 due to suicide and have dreams about him all the time like this. The rest of my friend group is going along like nothing is out of the ordinary but I know it's weird because I know he's dead. Still, I say nothing because I am just enjoying spending time with him again and don't want to mess it up by saying anything. The sounds of his voice and laugh and the sight of him, the details, they're all amazingly accurate in dreams and honestly it's all I have to go on nowadays with it being so damn long since he died. Waking up from those dreams is bittersweet - sad because it's over but great because it feels like I just hung out with him again.

Occasionally. But I have them more often about dead pets, which is strange because I definitely don't miss a dog or cat that died 10 years ago more than my departed relatives.
That's usually what tips me off that I'm dreaming. Maybe that's some type of neurological trigger to wake up. The brain is like "hey, this idiot thinks this is real so let's have him pet his cat that died when he was a kid and see if that clues him into the fact that he's dreaming"

I have dreams about women I can't have. Friends, coworkers, etc...

I've had several about my Grandfather who passed some 25 or so years ago - more than one of him were just about him sitting in the rafters looking down at me, which was odd because neither of the houses we have lived in (that I know about) had exposed rafters.

My dad died about 4.5 years ago at 63. i was 33. He died in Feb. i went to bed saturday night before Fathers Day lloking at pictures of him just because i missed him. I had a dream that night about him. He walked into a room and i saw him and ran to him crying. Hugging and kissing him. Telling him i loved him. Then he said he had to go and i cried and begged him not to leave. He left and i woke up from that dream with my eyes and pillow soaked with tears. Havent had another dream about him since, even though i want to.

Vivid dreams since getting Covid vaccines are cropping up all over as a side effect, unofficially.

My dad died when I was seven and every year or so I have a vivid dream that I find him in a different state and he’s been alive this whole time.
My disappointment in the fact that he left us doesn’t overcome the joy I get from seeing him alive and breathing. It’s vivid

Eat a bunch of spicy food just before bedtime. That usually triggers vivid dreams for me.
