Flip LeBron and Mitchell and I’ll accept this list as legitimate and honest
Certainly can make the case for that. I put LeBron higher because he was really good before the ankle injury.
But like I said, at this stage of his career, you don’t bounce back from injuries at age 37. He’s already wearing down even without the ankle.

Largely due to an abbreviated covid bubble season and gutted West bracket, have to take things in context, LeBron was last truly elite before his groin injury in 2019

Imagine believing the Disney World Summer Camp Invitational is a legit championship.

I think that’s likely the case. He got 5 months of rest heading into the playoffs at age 35 with another top 5 player alongside him. The competition the Lakers faced was pretty weak as well.

AD
Harden
Embiid
Over Steph? I don't think it's even close... at all. Steph is on a completely different level from those dudes, and others listed ahead of him. I don't think he can realistically be out of a top 3 or 4 list.

I’m not to sure who is worse you or Carolina. As a poster.

Great offensive player. He often moves like a new colt trying to get up on his legs for the first time. Defense is optional for him and has always been. Going away in OT last night was another bad look. That was the Durant I knew in OKC. No Number 1 player is going to be that one-dimensional on my list. Or that un-clutch.
He scored the most points in game 7 and his feet were a half inch away from winning the game in regulation.
One dimensional? What a terrible low informed take.
Durant is the best player in the league as I’ve said for years.
Healthy Kawhi is 2
Curry
AD
Giannis/Dame/Jokic Embiid
That’s the top tier, currently.

LeBron, at this stage of his career, is more realistically 3rd team All-NBA (which is still very good since like 300 people comprise NBA rosters) than 1st or 2nd, he can’t play defense at the level he did in Miami all he does is his patented chase down blocks, he doesn’t display the explosiveness he did in Miami and Cleveland circa 2016 on a consistent basis, his 4th quarter FT numbers are in full plummet if not his overall FT numbers which is BAD for a supposed all-time great, he operates more as veteran overseer of a game which is what other legends at this advanced stage of their respective careers did except for Jordan. I think people still rank LeBron absurdly high at this late stage because they’re chasing the memory of those early Cleveland/Miami years, reputation, not actual merit. Idk why people think it’s a slight if I rank him as the 12th best current player in the NBA out of 300 contracted players.

There are people deeply emotionally invested in him. It’s why people are calling Durant one dimensional or “unclutch” in this thread. I’ve got some LeFanBois as friends and they were delighted by last nights loss. They are very threatened by Durant’s superiority as a player.

I don't know about you guys, but when I see 27/11/9 on 56% shooting and a title, that just screams not elite to me.

Pick a thread, any thread. You are not getting a sports point without social commentary. It's what people do.
That said, if LeBron had been playing the Nets, you wouldn't have to worry about Durant being guarded by 6'4" midgets for 7 games.

If you mean a few elite defenders in Jrue and Tucker, sure they are midgets and better defenders than LeBron.
If you mean that LeBron this year would be guarding Durant, Who shot 70% on him in the Finals, that is a again very bad low informed take.
Durant being better than LeBron for the last 5 years doesn’t take away from LeBrons career.

AD is the best player on the Lakers, as shown.
Dame is Dame.
Embiid is the runner up to MVP who wouldve won it if not for injury. Playing hurt while not phoning it in.
It is what is.

When you have to discount 27/11/9 on 56% shooting as not elite, you're just trying wayyyyy too hard and making yourself look silly.

So you are saying that Lebron should have won the MVP??????

James can’t get a win without Davis. Hell he couldn’t make the playoffs in the West leading a team.

No one is discounting him at all, but you’re an expert at making yourself look silly.
