Overshadowed by the rest of his filmography, I think it's one of Scorsese's very best.

Didn't help that John Landis' Into the Night with Jeff Goldblum came out earlier that year. Very similar plots with insomniac average guys being caught up in a night of strange happenings.

I’ll echo that. I watched that on recommendation from this board and absolutely fricking loved it.

Another underrated show: In Living Color

My wife and I were just talking about it and laughing our asses off watching the Crystal Waters parody video.
