Head to a Reformed Baptist church if you can. If none are around, go to a conservative Presbyterian denomination like the OPC or a conservative PCA church.

PCA is on a similar trajectory as the SBC. In fact, they may be I little ahead of the SBC in that regard.

I know Litton, he's pastor here in Saraland of the biggest church in town. A commie he isn't.

He's not what you'd call old school Southern Baptist, but out of the choices you had, he was the best option.

This is going to sound like sacrilege to most of you but all churches are corrupt and do not have your soul in mind when making decisions. They care about number, the more people the can get through the door, the better the chance their coffers are filled.

Maybe just realize that you are nothing more than a piggy bank to them and their words are nothing but lip service to their works. Sure some good gets done but just enough to show you in a fancy handout that they are doing something.

Maybe I'm just jaded at it all. I've been down so many church roads and they all seem to follow the same path. "We gave out 2500 Thanksgiving dinners to the community!! Also we are expanding the church and have a one million dollar goal so we don't have to take a loan..Oh we forgot to tell you we are sitting on 2 million dollars of the money ya'll have so generously tithed to us but we cant use that!"

It has played out in similar fashion at 4 different churches here that I just quit bothering. I keep my faith, I am saved and I practice my faith by doing for others above self but I refuse to be a apart of what these people call a church now.

Yeah, while not as bad as the PCUSA, the PCA has a liberal wing that is straying further from orthodoxy. There are still some good, conservative churches, though. I’m partial to NAPARC congregations that adhere to confessions and standards beyond “no creed but Christ” (which is, itself, a creed).

Lutherans and their Missouri Synnod are well on their way as well.

Faith begins in the home. Christianity will endure. But organized religion is horrific in almost all of its forms throughout history. And if you don’t believe me remember that it was organized religion that condemned and murdered Jesus .
