Why is either side so preoccupied about cancelling each other and then complaining about cancel culture?

Who is advocating for someone to be canceled?

Cancel culture is here. Just taking bets on who is next.

The folks doing the "canceling" aren't posting here.

Just part of the overarching culture war we're in right now. Most of it is just a way to keep us at odds with each other and further polarize us.

One side started it. The other side could have sat there and taken it again and again without fighting back, or they could make the other side live by their own rules. I'm not sure what other course there was, do you have a suggestion? Cancel culture was not going to stop just because one side takes the high ground.
