Apparently 2 players were dqd for fighting. A player who was playing slow confronted one of the other players for not helping him look for his ball. The dad/caddie told him if he hit it straight he wouldn’t need help. All hell broke lose apparently the player who didn’t look for the ball punched the slow player in the face and was arrested. What an amazing game this is.

I mean, that’s pretty crazy when you think about it

Not defending the slow guy, but I’ve definitely played with guys where you help them find errant balls and when you need help they are nowhere to be found

I can see getting angry at that - and it maybe starting shite with two obvious assholes

Nobody...and I mean NOBODY like to play with a slow player. However, kind of agree with the slow player here. You can't just fight a guy because of it.

The altercation took place after Dailey hit a wayward shot on the par-3 7th hole. After both Luke Smith and his father allegedly failed to help look for the ball, Dailey approached the two and said how helping to look for errant shots might speed up the group. The Smiths then allegedly began to yell at Dailey about his own play, and as Dailey walked away, Luke Smith reportedly jumped on and started to punch him. When Fribbs attempted to break up the fight, Smith’s father began to use a putter to keep him from breaking up the fight.

It doesn’t sound like Smith really wants to play in anymore events.

Also pretty funny how the article starts to claim an anonymous source and then pretty obviously identified the source as Fribbs. Great journalism there.

Some guys just submit a two weeks notice, some guys just want to get out immediately.

I’d permanently ban the aggressor and his entire team from any tour events at any level. Would tell the slow player to get his shite together or get gone.

All of this sounds like Happy Gilmore bullshite that isn’t needed in golf by players or spectators. Can it now before the jorts and tank top crowd frick up another enjoyable sport.
