Boat Storage (Wasp edition)

After duck closes I usually put away the boat for several months under an open car port. Last year I had problems with wasps making a home out of the boat so before end of winter I decided to get a cover for it. Just went to take off the cover and found a big ole nest. Any idea how to keep them out?

I used these packets that I hang in my deer stand. Maybe someone can tell us the name. I forget.

Paint the inside sky blue.
They won't nest there.

hang some paper bags in the nest full of air and tied off. Wasps are dumb and think someone is already nesting there. I tried it this year by my grills and so far no nests have popped up. Usually I am fighting nests all year long. I do have too many cooking appliances outside...

Have electricity? Try the ultrasonic devices.

Took care of the existing nests this morning with the ole swat n run. Now I have to keep them out and these replies will be really helpful. Thank you guys for the tips.

Another vote for Bifenthrin/Talstar. We spray our deer blinds down with that each spring and the wasps still come in, but we find them dead on the floor. No nests.
