Ford Motor Co. surpassed a significant milestone in its conversion to electric vehicles, producing more battery-powered Mustangs so far this year than gasoline-fueled versions of its iconic pony car.
Ford has built 27,816 electric Mustang Mach-E models at a plant in Mexico this year compared with 26,089 copies of the traditional internal combustion engine Mustang at a factory in Michigan, according to production data the automaker released Thursday.
Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley said last week that he expects 4-in-10 models Ford sells to be electric by 2030, as he revealed plans to boost spending on battery-powered models by 36% to $30 billion. The Mach-E went on sale late last year and was the top-selling vehicle in Norway last month.

Imagine how much natural gas and coal we are going to burn for all these fricking EV’s

Stop trying to confuse all of the my-farts-don't-smell crowd who think EV means zero emissions!

So people in coal country and those who work in the O&G industry should have no problem with electrification of vehicles in America then since we are just substituting one type of hydrocarbon with another? Correct?

Great argument to exploit the uninformed and/or weak minded.
This argument totally avoids the fact the EV/US power grid is much more efficient at turning hydrocarbons into motion than ICE based vehicles. That is not even accounting for the 17% of the US power generated from renewable sources.

We lose 65% of electricity we produce due to heat loss
If we reduce this and add electric charging sub stations to the grid, we will be just fine
No need to generate more electricity

By your own post the overwhelming majority of US electricity is generated by non renewables.

And you totally avoid the current infrastructure built around ICE vehicles

There was a time when infrastructure of this country was built around horse drawn buggies. That didn't stop us from embracing automobiles and gas stations. Try harder.

Vehicle emissions are a red herring. The biggest emitter is logistics transportation of goods on ship across oceans.
By all means, go electric. Just don’t mandate everyone drive one as we currently do not have the infrastructure for that much electricity. 20% of electric car users go back to ICE because they can’t charge them for their lifestyle.

Just think of all the mineral mining taking place in China and the tailings left behind. Well, as long as we’re damaging someone else country and taking advantage their poor less fortunate people it’s okay.

Absolutely, in fact that WAS the point even if you took all the renewable generation offline the US grid coupled with EVs are still significantly more efficient at producing motion than burning fossil fuels in your local ICE vehicle.

Infrastructure has to be updated and replaced all the time, even without new technology. I mean if the idea of making infrastructure obsolete was taboo we would be still talking on copper based landlines.

Where does the electricity for the electric vehicle come from?
Spoiler alert:
It's still hydrocarbons.

You’re confusing customer demand and Government pressure (edict). Circle back champ
It’s an artificial “embracing” that you’re promoting not out of demand but out of force.

The majority of it is currently. The salient issue is which burns lower amounts of it per mile driven.

I'm going to buy that F 150 EV. It's going to be a luxurious golf cart to take me that 36 mile round trip to Lowes.

Efficiency at producing motion isn’t exactly high up on the demand/marketing pyramid of vehicles in the U. S.

Again you’re conflating demand and market coercion by the Government. Cell phones and continual infrastructure upgrades to support them were in demand by consumers.
Nationwide EV infrastructure (to support widespread EV adoption) is not.

Wow, how come nobody else on the planet knew that before? I am sure when you typed that you thought you were being clever.

I watched a YouTube video where Neal DeGrasse Tyson said the energy will come from another source. He seemed to indicate oil and natural gas would just go away. People believe that shite.

Assuming for a second that electrification of vehicles in the US is some kind of a liberal conspiracy theory to punish the O&G industry and Trump supporters, why do you think China and Europe are accelerating headlong towards EVs? What's their motivation to do that in their own countries?
