We don't have time for a lengthy search and this dude checks off every box.

Currently the Assistant OL Coach with the Colts.

Haven’t we learned our lesson from just handing people jobs sight unseen?

I agree and I have been pushing for him to be on the OLine staff for a long time. Not sure why O finally had enough of Cregg, but it is an opportunity for LSU to get maybe the most qualified line coach in football...KM. He has forgotten more about teaching Oline play, technique, what it takes to succeed, and more than anything, I believe he will be unreal dynamic in a HS oline recruits living room, and I think our oline recruiting would go to a completely new level. If we settle for another travel worn Oline coach just because he has more'experience' coaching, then I have little hope anything positive will happen to improve our oline play. We have been average at best for many years, including our natty year.

I feel Mawea is perfect he bleeds LSU. We need a coach with a lot of energy and who is new to the modern run game

I have been on his bandwagon Mawae for some time he needed somewhere to land 4 years ago and just got his first real offensive line assistant coaching post in Indianapolis. Just watched his twitter feed from yesterday and it gave me the chills. Bring him home bring some fire to the offensive line.

He should still interview but Mawae doesn't even seem like the type to mail in any performance. You don't play 15 years in NFL without some serious grit and dedication

Maybe it’s time and maybe he’s up to the challenge now but there’s legitimate reasons why he hasn’t been brought on yet

NFLPA President for two years so he had the respect of his peers.
Played the most cerebral position on the OL for his entire career
Can walk into a living room with his credentials and convince recruits to come here which has been our biggest problem at OL: Recruiting.

Is Mawae a workaholic? Because that’s what we need. If he’s not, then DON’T hire him.

Why? Is he a great O-line coach? Substantively, why should he be handed the nov right now over someone else?
