Duncan said he wants to have a better salary and plays in winning teams...
Should we line up with all the offers or not ?

I think 2 things about Robinson say no.

1) JJ Redick is his podcast boss and mentor figure, so I wonder how much he would even consider us with Griff being to JJ what Klutch is to most of us.

2) He's going to get paid like a starter. Unless you find that rare player that can shoot and defend like Klay, I'm thinking the Pels sharp shooter should be a bench player like JJ was. You have the option to finish with him or you can go defense with someone like Naji based on matchups.

Paid like a starter? Wouldn't we want him to start? I want my sharpshooter on the floor with Zion. Redick was simply too bad if a defender to start for us, but I don't know enough about Robinson as a defender to evaluate whether he would fit in our starting lineup.

[Edit: my gut is that he's an average defender.]

I do think that Robinson will likely sign somewhere he is promised a starting role.

That depends. Is Griff still trying to build the #1 defense in the league around Ingram and Zion?

I think the ship has sailed on the idea of the #1 defense built around Ingram and Zion. I expect Zion to continue to improve defensively but we aren't building a great defense with Ingram on the court. That is fine though, because I don't think you need a top 5 defense to win at elite levels anymore. We just can't be bottom of the league bad anymore on that side.

Robinson is too 1 dimensional to offer him big money. He's a nice asset to have but once you have to pay him big money, his value drops like a rock. His scoring production seems to have peaked as well so you're getting a guy who will average 3-4 3 point shots a game but gives you very little elsewhere.

I would. We need to do whatever we can to put shooters around Zion.

Like I said In another thread, when you take out Hayes and Wenyan who don’t shoot enough to matter, there are 4 centers shooting better from 3 than anyone on our team.

Our best 3 point shooter who actually takes 3s is 92nd in the NBA.
