So you don't think Hollywood does diversity casting? I mean they have done it for years. It was even a joke in spoof movies that there could only be one black friend in the all white high school.

two fairly known

They both are TV actors with middle of the road successful series. Howell-Baptist has been in more series that would be considered mainstream and popular. Novack has been in almost nothing that the average movie/tv viewer would recognize.

good actors

Maybe, maybe not. Their work is pretty limited to get a real read on their acting ability.

says a lot about you.

The fact that 3 of you have jumped on one single line from the OPS review and ignored everything else says just as much about you.

Was really good, super dark for Disney most of the movie, primarily first hour and a half though.

Diversity casting isn't about forcing a culture onto a character.

Diversity is about appealing to all races and cultures. It's about drawing in viewers who can say they saw an actor that looks like them in a big budget Hollywood movie.

It puts more asses in the seats. It's all about the dollars.

It really isn't. The people forcing diversity hate you. You're not on their side.

I’d rather ignore both your side & the other side when watching Disney movies.

I don't think you understand. People like me are arguing that you should be able to do this. People on the other "side" think you're a racist for not bowing to critical race theory. They are your enemy, whether you admit it or not. They hate you more than they hate those of us speaking out against them.

Anyone who denies the truth of this is simply being disingenuous. Spot fricking on

I thought it was just ok. I agree that Emma Stone is very charming, but I did not like her younger version. I thought the first act was pretty freaking boring. And lol at the reason for hating dalmatians.

It’s literally, as in the literal meaning of the word, what is happening.

I'm the exact opposite. I've been a fan from the 1st time I saw her. Back when Lindsay Lohan was still a smoke show, doing Mean Girls and such, I considered Emma Stone a less sexy yet funnier version of LL. Maybe it was the red hair, which bummed me to learn isn't her natural color.

As I don't have D+, I'll not be watching this one for a while.

Eh 10 and over should be fine. Under 10 won’t be shocked by it, they just wouldn’t care for it. At least I wouldn’t have back when I was a kid.

I mean that was about a solid as a reason to hate them as you are going to get, but by the end of the movie, I didn’t really get the impression that she hated them.

That's my fault, I wasn't being clear. What I meant to say is that scene was really cringe. And the cgi was laughably bad.

Ahh okay, we’re on the same page with the CGI then

First off, A lead is different from THE lead. Funny show, though.

Funniest show on television is either Always Sunny, or Letterkenny.

I think I’m gonna take a hard pass. I like Emma Stone and Emma Thompson, but this movie was completely needless. Cruella didn’t need a back story any more than what’s in the original novel and animated film. She’s an old classmate of Anita’s from school. That’s all you need to know.

Saw it last night with my wife and our 12 year old. I can't believe nobody has mentioned the soundtrack. That was one of the best things about the movie. Stone was awesome. Horace and Jasper were casted perfectly. The Baroness was a Devil wears Prada bitch ripoff and over the top but the movie was solid.

I agree. The soundtrack was the best thing about the movie.
