That's a good one. We don't have them in Louisiana(BR/NOLA) but I took my GF to one in Houston area a few years ago. Better than Superior Grill down here and cheaper.

Longhorns better than outback and roadhouse in my area

I thought so too. But a year ago I took my son to the one in Baton Rouge and our steaks were BOTH chewy as frick and we ordered medium. They weren't overdone they were just chewy. Coulda been a one-off on the sirloins in that delivery.

Outback out here in Gonzales is pretty consistent and the best restaurant value when you want a steak and sides for under $20.

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse.

Edit: This is my "go to" place to take an excellent client. I usually have 5-8 in attendance and will spend $2500-$3000 minimum on dinner.

I call up early, weeks in advance to arrange the table, and I ask in advance if the manager can make a presentation to my table and to my guests on the origins of the "Double Eagle". If I'm told the manager isn't available I ask which night he would be and rearrange my schedule around it. *The managers are limited to only one presentation a night.

At dinner, I notify the waiter which of my clients at the table is most important to me. When the manager makes the presentation, he brings with him a one ounce of pure silver medallion, the size of a silver dollar. This is the "Double Eagle". The manager tells the story of how the "Double Eagle" became a symbol for the restaurant. At the end of the presentation, he gives it as a gift to the person I pre-designated to receive it.

It's just one ounce of silver, so not worth that much, but let me tell you, it's worth 100x its weight in gold to me in new business after that. My clients remember that.

I tip well at this place.

Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse.

I ate there once, Winter of 2000 in Dallas. Was fresh out of college for about 6 months and poor.
But I had a $100 giftcard from work. I remember it was very good and fancy. I was so nervous but the server made me feel better when she told me I couldn't use my knife to cut the bread, I had to use my hands.

That was also my first time using a valet. I tipped him well b/c I delivered pizza in college but still felt awkward as frick having someone park my car.

Texas Road House is a great value for families.
You can feed a family of 6 a decent steak with sides for under $120. Their kids menu has a small steak meal on it that's PERFECT for kids between 8-12.
We went regularly when two of mine were in that age range.

That’s just terrible.

No Waffle House, no Cracker Barrel, or even Outback? You’re going to pick BWW over Hooters?

I like J Alexanders as far as chains go. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion though.
