Makes me a little emotional. He was a great coach and deserves to be remembered fondly. Definitely ready for the next chapter, but glad to have had Paul in the LSU dugout.

This. I've definitely been frustrated the last few years with his decision making, but man it would have been sad to see an ugly split. He is definitely a Tiger, turned the program back around following Smoke, and deserves to be recognized for such. Kind of like McClendon and Miles, it was just time.

is it not safe to say that some coaches, though competent and well deserving of the position they hold, reach a point where it's best for the program and institution they represent to bow out and let someone revitalize the program before it becomes stale.

CLM should have been asked to resign after the aTm game. Alleva was a puss, though it may not have completely been his decision.
