Tampa is soulless and boring. Especially Clearwater area.

If Louisiana is your favorite place I’d hate to see your pick in women. Dude you must have never lived here, especially the Southwest Louisiana area. This place is fricking miserable. Anything will be better and I say that from the bottom of my heart. Yes some people are cool and we have great food, guess what we have ALOT of assholes here as well and I can cook like a fricking king. There isn’t shite here to do. Period!

I live in Washington DC area but still keep my house in Baton Rouge, it’s the only place I want to be.

I’m sorry you don’t love it as much, but I’ve been everywhere man. At least everywhere in America. Test me if you want. I’ve worked 2 different jobs that sent me all over.

I mean, your opinions are your own, but I’ve been everywhere also and can definitively say Louisiana is not anywhere close to the best place to live. I visit multiple times a year for LSU games and to fish, but after about three days the novelty wears off.

The only place I enjoy anywhere close to Louisiana is Bozeman Montana and Charleston. The people in Bozeman are so stiff and Charleston just doesn’t feel like home.

Louisiana has the spirit and joy of life that I cannot find anywhere else. It’s lively, everywhere else feels empty in comparison. Texas has a lot of spirit but I’ve never enjoyed being there. Louisiana, to me, is just awesome. I only wish it had more economy.

See that’s the issue. We do have spirit etc, but our economy and structure and overall life SUCKS! Don’t hype it up to be what it’s not

I moved from Lafayette to Tampa 15 years ago (soon after a bad year of hurricanes). Love it out here - I just miss the LSU/Saints games and the food. The Saints come play here once a year at least. Way less hurricane and flooding threats. Better quality of life and job opportunities.

EDIT: And a much better governor, too.

I have as well. I've spent more than 30 days in 30 states and have visited 49 of them.

There are many areas far superior to BR.
DC sucks balls too tho.

I hate to hear that. Used have an old occasional frick buddy in Lake Charles. I liked her, and I liked Lake Charles too. But if you gotta go you just gotta. Good luck bro. Tampa Bay area ain't half bad. Just kinda transitory.

Meh, I'll agree that Louisiana has a myriad of issues but if you're in or from a state ranked 40th or below as well you are essentially Kentucky football telling Vandy they suck. You suck too dumbass.

That's awesome that you feel that way.

I think it's a miserable place to live.

It’s rare to see you being such a jerk and name calling on here.

Is everything ok?

You’re not looking hard enough. I will agree that Louisiana has a unique culture in that at anytime one of my friends or family somewhere has found an excuse to party and cook and it’s totally ok for you to show up unannounced. Growing up it felt like I spent more time at friend’s homes than I did at my own and I know my friends would say the same about being at our house. That is something people in other states don’t do I’ve noticed, especially in WNC. It’s very clannish.

But, that doesn’t mean I don’t bring that aspect of Louisiana to them. We still cook and people have come around to the idea that we really don’t care if you stop by and have drinks on a random Tuesday.

Just because you’ve left the state doesn’t mean you have to leave everything you loved about it behind.

I’m a bit shocked at the number of folks that live in the Tampa area.

We like Apollo Beach; I fish a lot so it’s easy to get out on the water when living on the east bay.
