Mixed feelings. Even though this one isn’t ours, still feel anxiety. This state has endured so much this past year, especially the good folks in Lake Charles.
But feel relieved that rds is around for another hurricane season.

Isn’t that the guy that lost the ban bet because he said there was no way Delta would hit west of Lafayette?

Unconcerned until June 1. And for that matter until August 15.

Posted On Wednesday 5/19/2021: There are 3 things that I'm keeping an eye on.
(1) Brief sub-tropical development is possible around Friday & Saturday near Bermuda. This system poses no threat to the United States or the Caribbean.
(2) I think that we may see tropical development occur in either early or mid June in the area from the western Caribbean into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico to near the Bahamas.
(3) I wanted to point out that there are a couple of robust areas of disturbed weather over the far eastern Tropical Atlantic that should be noted. This is at least the third to fourth robust tropical disturbance that has pushed off of the coast of Africa just this month. Even though tropical development is not expected due to unfavorable conditions, they have been rather strong and robust for this early in the season. This continues to be a bit concerning as it could definitely mean an early start to the African wave train and an early start to long track tropical systems that we need to watch from Africa.
