What does it matter if I’m spending the same time on the rack? If I was going to rest 90 seconds without the curls, what does it matter if I spend 30 seconds doing curls and 60 seconds resting before my next set of squats?

If this is the case then no harm no foul. But in my experience this is never the case. For this to actually work you’d have to have 2 barbells (because I know you’re not squatting and curling the same weight) and you’re probably doing yourself a disservice if your curl sets only last 30 seconds

I do, but my gym has more barbells than racks.

I usually end that workout with dumbbell curls on the other side of the gym for more volume. I like to do what I call “running the rack”, not sure if that’s actually a thing or not. I start with 35s and work all the way down to 20s to failure each weight with no more than 10 seconds rest between sets. Usually I’m at 8 per set until the 20s and I try to knock out 10.

How long does it take you to do 8 to 10 reps? Because if I had to guess, it probably doesn't take me more than that. Also, you don't have to have two barbells if you are curling dumbbells...
