First thing he should do is call USC, tell them to stop being pussies and carry the conference back into national relevance

HQ definitely heading to Vegas

The Pac-12’s relationship with Las Vegas should only continue to grow w/ Kliavkoff hire. Two questions stemming from that … Is it inevitable the conference moves to Las Vegas? Will the Pac-12 consider embracing sports betting before other major conferences?

They got a guy that knows how streaming works.
Now fix the Pac 12 network so that people can actually get it.

Remember when Larry Scott thought he was a genius for creating six different channels? Good times

So they got a media guy to run the conference.
Maybe this fixes the Pac 12 networks... but not sure it does much else for the conference.

He should do everything he can to get the Pac and CBS linked up. With the SEC leaving it's the perfect setup. CBS doesn't do a 11am est game like Fox and ABC/ESPN so West coast Pac fans won't get fricked with 8am kicks. Instead the 3:30 est slot would be 12:30 PST. The CBS production is awesome and would make the Pac look good in the process.

Think the Pac-12 is locked into Fox and ESPN for 3-4 more years

IMO you could increase attendance by partnering with a sports book. If you present yourself at the bookie’s stand at the game, you get even money on the line to for the home team.
Percentage of ticket sales to fans who check in at the stand goes to bookie to offset the odds loss. Win-win.
Example: USC is -7 at -110 money vs Arizona State. If you present your ticket at the game to the bookie, your bet is now USC -7 at +100. 5-10% of the ticket cost goes to the bookie to offset difference, or maybe 0% just because the deal would get USC fans to sign up for the service.

Their 12 year deal was signed in 2011 so it should be up some time in 2024.
In the meantime they could do some sort of deal with the Pac 12 Net by giving ViacomCBS partial ownership. The added muscle of Viacom should be enough to push P12N onto all the cable, satellite, and streaming systems they aren't currently on. Hell, they should bundle P12N w/Paramount+ while they're at it.

In his presser, he said that is one of his biggest priorities. That and expanding the CFP. Whatever draws the $$

Being an entertainment CEO doesn’t mean you can do shite with athletics departments.
Did every conference president in the country turn them down on principle or did they lowball them considering the turnaround job required?

Uh, marketing is everything. Look at the SEC.
You don't think having big Daddy in your pocket (ESPN-SEC) who cornered the market has been the cornerstone of the rise of the SEC and recruiting?
ESPN has been a constant promotion for the SEC the last 20 years and basically that's who controls CFB - ESPN.
Pac12 has to figure out a way to get that 24/7 media hype and shilling by those in charge.

USC is going to be a rebuild by the time they get a new coach.
