Are you looking to be in Boston or at Foxboro? It's a PITA to get to Gillette on a gameday, but outside of the actual game it's pointless to stay in Foxboro.
If in Boston, what sort of price range are you looking for? That'll make a big difference in what places to look at.

There are several hotels right by the stadium in Foxboro
I would stay there for the game and either before or after you could stay in Boston

I would suggest something in the Backbay/Copley square area. Seemed pretty walkable to everything we wanted to do. Also seemed safe.

i like the area around the park st T-station/boston common. right there on the freedom trail and from that T-stop you can go pretty much anywhere

We stayed at the Lenox Hotel in back bay when we went a couple years ago. Nice hotel and lots of good restaurants in walking distance. Eataly is like 2 blocks away too, if that’s up you alley. The wife and I got gelato or pastries from Eataly every night on the way back to our hotel.

Highest recommendation would be the Four Seasons, followed by the Ritz Carlton. The W is a nice hotel but I wouldn't want to stay in the Theater District if it's your first time in Boston.
The Fairmont Copley is a wonderful older hotel with a great bar/restaurant, and if you want a newer style the Envoy hotel is a good option.

My business partner has been holed up there for the last few months and raves about it. And he's a particular butthole.

Yeah it’s a gorgeous place and the location could not be better. You definitely pay for it though.

There's a new one on Dalton Street.
The location isn't as good, but the hotel is very well done. It's one of their first residential heavy properties.
FS is in a slow decline though. They've been in a cost control cost cutting mode for ten or fifteen years now, and it's starting to effect the product. I was told they were considering eliminating the concierge at some properties.

Do you think the pats will be back to full capacity in the fall?

I do think so, assuming everything continues to trend the way it has.
At least I hope they do. My friend has four season tickets and already promised two of them to the wife and I for the saints game.

Cool thanks man.
What's the boston common/ theater district area like? Finding some good hotel deals in that area.

I wouldn't recommend staying in the Theater District - it's louder and more crowded. Not my favorite part of the city.
The Common is a great place to stay. Look at the Omni Parker House, they might have some good deals!

Have either of you had any experience with the Charlesmark hotel?. Looks to be in a fantastic location and not too bad @ 189/night.
