Bay Area is such a large and populated area. Would it make sense to move the team to San Jose or another suburb of San Francisco?

Yes but a business owner will think it makes sense to move it to the highest bidder.

West side of the bay = Giants fans
East side = A's.
No one would watch them if they moved to the San Jose area.
They already have the Giants minor league team there anyway.
