CDC moving the covid goalposts again

Dem digits...
Wonder what will happen to “cases” that they do not want to find (as they used different criteria to rule people in prior to the vaccine)
CDC number fricking us (weaponized bureaucracy...)
A statistical fricking...

I saw the change to focus only on severe outcomes as a good thing.

Can somebody paraphrase this for those of us who don’t speak Klingon.

We have moved on from the lie that we are only doing this to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed

If your purpose is to hide the complications/limitations of the vaccines, you're right.

Pre vaccine/ during Trump:
Simplified:
PCR testing used inappropriately to test for covid. The testing uses cycles. The more cycles, the smaller viral particles detected.
True positives should test positive with a smaller number of cycles. As cycles increase, more false positives become included (no clinical infection, but told they had covid). Statistical issues with sensitivity/specificity
CDC had the Ct set at level that allowed many patients to be “ruled in”
Inflated numbers
Biden/ vaccine :
CDC changes the Cycles to a lower level, effectively decreasing the number of patients labeled as “cases”. Literally just redefine reality
Automatically cases drop
Now they are further limiting how they define cases (further driving cases down and limiting the numbers of post vaccine breakthrough infection that will show up in future statistical analysis)
Lies, damn lies...

That 28 number is the amount of amplifications a test will get put through looking for covid. If it pops up in 28 or less amplifications then the patient is deemed positive.
This is important because the previous standard during the "pandemic" was around 42 amplifications. Which numerous experts pointed to as being way too high.
So unvaccinated or pre-vaccinated people would be deemed positive in more tests than the new standard for vaccinated people. Its manipulating the stats.

Spot on post.
Yet when this first changed when Biden was elected, many on this board dismissed it.
If you change how you keep score, you change the results.
The interesting thing is that they did not go back and decrease the number of cases based on the new criteria.
Why? What science dictates that?
Political Science is the answer.

If you don;t like the data just change the metric for a positive test result.
Poof! Fewer cases!
Biden is our hero!

Whatever happened to
CASES?

?
I thought cases were a dubious metric from the start.
In any event, there haven't been many breakthrough infections anyway, so not worth a lot.
