If you have any tips they'd be greatly appreciated. So much land it's hard to even figure out how to attack it all.

I would focus on private land with open pastures and areas where you can see turkeys from the road. That's what we have been doing. Basically just riding around private land, looking for turkeys, and knocking on doors asking for permission. We have about 75% success rate on permission. One lady told us the turkeys were her pets. One man said he didn't allow any hunting. One man said he was a caretaker for "a bunch of damn lawyers from New York" who won't allow anyone on their place. Every other person said Yes.

I found one yesterday afternoon on some Private timber land that butts up to some pastures. He gobbled at 9oclock and couldnt have been more than 300 yards.

Stayed until dark (950) and he never said another peep.

Rode around after lunch and saw 2 in a meadow about 500 yards from where I was yesterday, so i'm about to strike out and see if they'll play ball.

I got too caught up riding around looking at ducks. Started out at 11 riding the valley and edge or mountains and somehow got turned around and ended up by a marsh that had hundreds and hundreds of ducks on it.

Ended up just riding along river, checking ponds I saw on the map, and watching ducks until 2:30. Oh well
