Kids are being taught that there are transgenders in the world, and we should respect them. I'm struggling with how this is something that people are against.
Look, the religious right isn't going to be able to stop people from being transgender. So, we can either love people where they are and respect them, or we can treat them like subhumans because we don't agree with their choices, even though those choices don't impact us.

The vast majority of people are perfectly comfortable in their gender. And the ones that aren't, probably don't want to have kids anyways.

That’s the thing though, we don’t think they’re “subhuman” as you are implying. What we find “subhuman” is their insistence to push beyond mere tolerance, which they have already, into other areas including young children.

What do you mean by "push"?
If they are trying to convince kids to become transgender, like it's something you can sign up for, then I have an issue with it.
If it's simply teaching tolerance and acceptance and understanding, I don't see the issue with that.
Maybe it's because I have a transgender family member.
And this board is clear evidence we are far, far away from "tolerance" - maybe not with you, but certainly with others.

This thought process, right here, is why our country is circling the drain. Social stigma and shame serve a vital purpose in society. They protect societal norms, and allow those who run afoul to suffer the repercussions. These days, it's those following societal norms that face repercussions-they're called bigoted, hateful, or worse

Personal sex is convenient when the brain is mature and mature. So much for you and me for sure. And when a teenager is full of doubts, especially when hormones boil in adolescence, and the brain already has doubts sown by such a "nervous teacher" in childhood, the teenager may have a breakdown and a desire to change sex.
Will take hormones that are harmful to health. The consequences are irreversible.
A teenager often does not accept parental advice not to do so.

You have to understand movements are categorized by their leaders and actions that make big news. In my experience, and in my expectations, the average everyday transgender person is no different than anyone else. They’re subsumed into a movement however that continues to push for more vile actions to be excepted as norm, and whose leaders only know one tactic; bullying anyone who pushes back into submission. The further the movement goes that way the more vile the pushback will be. You see how vile notions aren’t necessarily an attack on an everyday person?
