Don't ever disregard USC. SS exposed our defense last year!

Honestly,we'll have no excuse if we lose to them this fall. None. May be a competitive game ,but losing to them would be inexcusable.

your mentality is exactly what makes it even more of a 'trap' game...

Are you kidding???

"I believe that South Carolina has the best defense in the SEC." - Holtz

Yeah, they were scary good Lou!
I'm with you wilder, doesn't look like as much of a trap game anymore.

No, you still prepare every week to play your opponent. I think USC this year will be like ASU was this year. We saw what ASU did to UM when they took them lightly. We waxed ASU even though they were most likely not as good as they were last year. We won't overlook any more games like the USC game this year, but UK was a better team last year than they were this year, so with us preparing I don't see us dropping it.

If they were highly ranked going in to the game how is it a trap game?
A trap game is when you get beat by a supposedly inferior opponent when looking to forward to a game with better competition.

It never was. They are overrated as usual.

if you ask me, sc looks very stout on defense. and very quick. vandy got by on many special teams breaks and trick plays. i dont think we run anything in their play book besides the option. and they stuffed that cold. one weakness i saw was the d-line in power running situations. i feel we could run all over them if we wanted to. of course, sc was pressing their recievers the whole time and loading the box. i dont think they'll do that with us unless hatch still hasnt thrown a pass beyond 30 yards by midseason.

With our receivers, it won't take a 30 yard pass to beat a press defense.

Their run defense was absolutely putrid......they couldn't stop Vandy to save their lift......I think their RB averaged over 5 yards a touch.

Unless LSU is extremely banged up going into that game, I agree. LSU wins this game easily as long as the Miles has the team focused, as he always has. It's his job not to let the possibility of a trap game enter the picture.

USC's offense has proven to be a bit inept, with turnovers, sacks, mediocre QB play, and just one RB threat. LSU should blow them out, unless Spurrier is able to work some magic and get the offense on track. I'm not so sure he has enough horses at the skill positions.

They looked just as bad vs NC state. Vandy is a better team than they have been in the last 25 years but they still aren't exactly the top of the SEC when it comes to football. SC cant hand with LSUs D.
