So your saying he actually scored a TD and protected the ball without throwing an INT? Good for him

Let’s just give him a moral victory trophy and the keys to Tiger Stadium.

A 4 and a half minute TD down 20 with 5 minutes to go is fricking useless.

The only thing the defense can’t do in that situation is give up a quick TD. Anything else is a victory.

Pretty much every other drive was an abject disaster but people keep acting like it’s a given we would have scored more TD not in junk time.

It’s not.

Myles is absolutely being told he is the game 1 starter. No way is Peetz in his first year as an OC going to run off 2 starting Qbs from the previous year. And having graduated, Brennan can go anywhere and play.

Myles gets game one, and will keep the starting job until he fails

If Max the job then that means we go into the season with only 2 scholarship QBs on the roster because Brennan will be gone. Hopefully one of our walk-on QB is good enough to be 3rd string or it’s Jontre Kirklin.

That escalated quickly...

Well ya, even though his drives were short outside of the TD, he was still hitting receivers. Johnson went 14-22 vs Finley's 9-25. That's a pretty even number of reps against the same team. Statistical probability would obviously side with Johnson.

Max was good, but he didn’t win the job over Brennan. He won the job over TJ and played fantastic in the last 2 games, Brennan is there everyday he knows if he is winning the job or not based on practice, not loyalty not experience, someone that plays QB at this level knows where he stands, if he doesn’t win the starting job he WILL transfer. Like they say if you have 2 QBs you really have none

You said Finley Singlehandedly lost the game.

I say, Johnson wasn’t all that much better and outside junk time was terrible. The stats support that too.

You take away that bogus penalty call on that 72 yard pass max 3 td Myles 1 , max total yards 132 , max had the better game

9-25
2 INT (pick 6)
0 TD
118 YDS

14-22
0 INT
1 TD
113 YDS

If that's "not all that much better" according to stats, then I will probably never look at a box score again.

If you watched the game and not the box score you would have seen every drive that could have effected the game went no where.

I dont Dislike Max.

I dont Think he’s a bad QB and I’ll even admit he’s a better QB than Finley.

But the OL sucked that day and the OC/PGC sucked all season.

To extrapolate 1 drive to winning the entire game is huge leap.

Plus, he can help mask the deficiencies of the offensive line with his mobility
Just like Burrow did.

I've seen about enough of the now yearly OL dysfunction to confidently put the blame on the OL Coach, in both recruiting and development. (I'm mystified as to how Cregg got Dellinger in here and got commitments from Campbell, Bordelon and Taylor. (I still say Taylor flips to Bama or Auburn)
