I’m not a Paul apologist but you can’t really blame him here...Hampton missed all of summer and fall and Paul couldn’t promise he’d play in front of guys who had been putting in the work while Hampton was in FB. I love multi-sport athletes but unfortunately nowadays if you’re not committed to one sport year-round then you’re falling behind.

Paul took the commitment when they signed the guy, and yes I know it was a football scholarship, however, the lazy JA just told a player that he wouldn’t see any playing time behind no more than average players at his position. Say what you want about Gio but he is simply average and has zero arm in the outfield. I understand his speed but Hampton has speed also and his upside is far superior!

When Giocomo went down, Hampton was the only true CF on team and didn't get a start. I'm sure he saw he was not going to play.
