Yea, my understanding of waddle is that he’s ideally suited for slot work and underneath routes. Kind of a Julian Edelman type of route runner, just with ++ athleticism. He’s certainly capable of stretching the field, but I’m personally expecting far more drag and curl routes.
That said, I’ve also got waddle lower than most others. But that has far more to do with the guy throwing him the ball than with the routes he’ll be expected to run. And that there are just so many viable WR plays in today’s NFL.

I’ve grown tired of the Hill comparison over the last 2-3 years. But Waddle fits that mold

BPA
Dont make the mistake of drafting a rookie based on need
Pitts is the easy smash here

frick I know that's the answer and it shouldn't be this tough but it is

You’re looking for 3 things
Hit rate
Ceiling
Floor
Who has the higher floor, ceiling, and hit %
It’s an easy answer, mate. Positional scarcity comes into play, I get it. But you have a chance at getting a +5 to +6 positional point advantage on 8 of your 11 opponents
I’m not in the camp of Pitts being all world his rookie year, but he is going to go quite well for himself, IMO

Quick hijack, is it worth it to move up to top 3 in this years draft? I don't have a pick until 2.12. My qbs are brady, wentz, winston. Rbs are zeke, aaron jones, and JT. My receivers are Davante adams, Diggs, and amari. Tes are Logan, Irv, and OJ. I am offering Zeke or Cooper to move up to top 3. Should I do this or just keep my team as is? I've won last two championships.

This is not meant to be me crapping on your opinion, just sharing mine on a player that seems to be pretty heavily debated in the dynasty community.
Yea, I think he can be good here because of his run after the catch ability. Plus I wouldn't say he's super polished at this point, and Miami has two good outside WRs so it makes sense to start him in the slot.
Disagree- they may both get lots of slot snaps (at least early, with Fuller and Parker outside this year), but Edelman won with footwork and toughness, not really something I think Waddle will be NFL good at right away.
Drag routes, sure. A lot of times those become almost like screens if you hit the WR in stride. Curl routes? Gross. I don't want him catching the ball coming back to the QB. Let the man catch the ball in a position to get upfield.
I've seen the Tyfreek comp a bunch, and I think there are similarities for sure. I don't think Waddle has that kind of strength and toughness (Tyfreek is built almost like a running back). And Tyfreek is very underrated at tracking and winning balls downfield, which is uncommon for a WR his size.
My take is that Waddle's explosiveness is RARE. He was terrifying anytime he got the ball in his hands. I remember screaming at the TV when LSU would punt to him- and sure enough, he shrugged off a facemask to house it. I saw him obliterate too many angles and run past too many SEC defensive backs like they were standing still to think anything other than "this guy might be the most explosive college player I've seen in a LONG time".
I think he almost comps to a Desean Jackson with more natural WR ability? Which I think makes him a number 1 passing game option, or at the very least, an elite #2. Clearly the team likes him, and we generally think Miami knows what they're doing in this new regime. So to me, he's clearly a top 7 or so dynasty pick. Just too many things going for him compared to his competition.

Do you think you're getting Chase or ETN with 1.03? I think the answer is different depending on who else goes. But yea, if you can get Chase for Cooper I like that. Wouldn't be surprised if Chase outproduces Cooper in 2021 at all.

Man take a look at my team I'm torn between Pitts and Javonte at 1.03
I don't understand why you would draft Javonte Williams for immediate need. I don't think he's going to be some 2021 stud. He's going to a mediocre offense where he will likely share the rock with a decent back. Pitts will be a 2021 upgrade over Fant and Tonyan IMO.
Posted on 5/5/21 at 11:48 am to DallasTiger45
because he will have the backfield all to himself most likely next year and i'm thin at RB only have 2 starters and Tarik.

Draft BPA and fill out needs later via free agency or trades.
Posted on 5/5/21 at 11:18 pm to Byron Bojangles III
Pat Shurmur has a long history of establishing bell cow backs. They traded up for Williams and have said they see him as a 3 down guy. Not even sure Gordon is there this year and the tape speaks for itself. I’m not sure he isn’t BPA
Pitts is obviously a dude as well. Whether you draft and hold or draft and trade, he would bring value.
Keep in mind, Fant is a bigger athletic freak than Pitts and is about past the learning curve for a TE. Breakout is imminent

There is no wrong move. Pitts is good, he’s the flashy, comfortable pick. People are scared of the “unknown”
Shurmur led offenses average 457 rush attempts a season and his RBs see 100+ targets a year, on average. Right behind Andy Reid, percentage wise, amongst coaches who establish bellcow RB in their offense. the The teams with the stable of RBs hoist the trophy. The positional advantage lies with the RB especially when you have a young stud at TE already. But I digress
