They never gave the union members an opportunity to vote on ExxonMobil’s proposal. Now the employees find themselves on the other side of the fence without a paycheck. Is this what Union representation looks like? The USW financially supports Democrat candidates 99% of the time. I wonder how many of those newly unemployed operators would agree with this course of action.

frickem. You pay dues to a union that doesn’t have your best interests at heart…. You pay the price.

I’m not understanding the problem....when you pay union dues, you’re paying for nothing, so that’s what you get. Is this a surprise to anyone?

I really don’t care that people HAVE to bring politics in every thread, but joining a union is stupid......

You can't talk UNIONS without talking politics. They are bought and paid for by nasty Democrats.

Eta. Don't believe me? Go check out USW’s website. Or better yet, check out their political donations.

Most unions are a top heavy ponzi scheme.

Sorry.

Don't sympathize with people that let unions garnish their wages so the "labor leaders" can take kickbacks and push a political agenda completely against the best interest of their own members.

Unions are trash and haven't been useful in 50 years. My neighbor is in his 80s and was a boiler man for the USW for the majority of that time. He's gone moderate now because the Democrats have shifted so far right. He said the union always told them who the vote for and would pay en masse to get them there to vote.

Not worth it. Spewing trash ignorantly. Y'all have no idea the details.

The rank and file who vote on Union issues are the worst possible people to make these kinds of decisions.

That I don't know. But a lockout usually favors the union in the long run.

Another union cut down is a win for America.

USW also represents Baton Rouge ExxonMobil as well.

I suspect not giving the membership the opportunity to vote on the proposal will not be favorable for USW. These sites had independent unions before the nationals moved in. I imagine their members are looking at them a bit differently now.
