I really loved this game. Didn't think I was very good at these types of games but picked it up pretty quickly and finished the full story without much of an issue. The weapon upgrades are key, choosing the right ones and focusing on grinding upgrades for specific weapons. My personal favorites were the hollowseeker and carbine. The hollowseeker with some mix of retarget, waves, and portal turret shreds.

I got through the bulk of the content several months back after being stuck on biome 3 for ages.

This game is great. It will be largely overlooked because it isn’t something that is easy to grasp initially but it’s immensely replayable.

Need to try the coop a little more. That was a solid addition alongside the tower of Sisyphus

Best Buy had copies on sale for $17.99 this morning, so figured I'd give it a shot.

I'm not a fan of bullet hells or rogue-likes, but it looks so damn cool, and for $17.99, I couldn't resist.

I'm in for a bad time, aren't I?

I finally played it with PS+. Story is nonsense but the gameplay is really tight and fun. I could've beaten it on my first run, but got too cocky with the parasites and malfunctions and it ended up costing me. Died in Biome 2 and then beat the whole thing in my next run

Tower of Sisyphus is a ton of fun

Interesting, well I'll definitely give it a shot. Did you try out the co-op at all?

I'm not gonna get into spoiler territory with sloth in here even though there's nothing to really spoil. it's just nonsensical david lynch type stuff with cryptic dialogue. you can read 1000 different interpretations online and they're all different

First PS5 exclusive I bought. Played for a couple hours and never went back, it was cool but I had no idea what was going on and didn’t get the death and no save thing

Yeah that’s what I heard too. I wouldn’t necessarily call that a bad story though. Just a story that leans a lot on your interpretation, which combined with the aesthetic of the game, the combat, the music, the returning back to when you first land. It just gave me a lot of David Lynch but also Lovecraftian vibes too which I pretty much always dig. Plus, media that rely on that kind of conceit, like Edge of Tomorrow, just hooks me in deep

it's just not executed nearly as well and borders on the "it was all a dream" bullshite
