Kids ages will be 18, 16, 10, 8, and 9 months. Was going to do a beach trip but I loathe the beach and would be difficult with a 9 month old.

Options of places we've never been

Hawaii - worried about too many ongoing COVID restrictions

Yellowstone/Grand Teton - have read about how crowded it is in July (though I'm sure all vacation spots are crowded then)

Niagra Falls - worried not enough to do there to warrant a week vacation with kids

LA - again, COVID restrictions

Alaska - was hoping for a cruise but doubt they'll be open, maybe just a regular vacation there would be good option

Grand Canyon - heat and again, is there enough to do there for a week

Of course, open to other ideas.

Small ships are running, they are far better than big ships if you really want to explore. Its more adventure than passive tourist.

Uncruise
Nat Geo
Alaskan Dream

Some of the companies that do small ship cruises.

Durango, Silverton, Ouray in Colorado. Daily high temps in the 70's. There's plenty to do on that western side of Colorado. Royal Gorge isn't too far of a drive either.

My parents took us to the Estes Park YMCA every year for more than 25 years. They'd rent a cabin and we'd spend the days on the trails of RMNP. It was awesome to be somewhere in July that was cool and with low humidity. Good times, the last trip was more than 20 years ago.

San Diego - lot to do there other than the beach; sometimes they have big conventions in July though.

If Canada is open Vancouver BC, Whistler area.

Rapid City, SD - lot to do in the area other than Mt Rushmore; probably don’t want to go during bike week at Sturgis.

Getting away from the SE heat in July is very nice. Wasn't that crowded for us last year, but may change this year.

Lancaster County, PA.

Amish country, beautiful scenery/country side, the weather is pleasant. We usually stay in/near Intercourse, PA.

My kids loved it when they were young.
