Modern Rap is garbage

I’m not even boomer or a “get off my lawn” type, shite just sounds like loud noise..
To find anything of decent quality you have to dig far underground.. Hopsin, Freddie Gibbs, Logic, etc are good. Some of Tyler the Creator’s stuff is okay. Other than that rap as music seems like it’s dying on the vine.. it’s devolved into beats with mumbling and yelling. No substance or meaning
I guess Rap died around the mid 2000’s? Maybe earlier?

I know I’m getting older but the mumble rapping just isn’t in the same league as the west coast hip hop of the 90s or the down south stuff from the 00s. The beats and crafting of the songs just so unimaginative and repetitive now in comparison.

I’m not gonna lie. I used to live in this camp. But damn. I keep finding stuff I like. I mean brockhampton, RTJ, spillage village, freddie Gibbs, droog, JID etc etc on the alt tip.
But I’ll be damned if I don’t like Polo G and Da Baby and Cudi and a ton of other stuff. I dunno. I was old and cynical but I’m comin round.
