Came here to get some advice from the experts (regulars @ the CWS).

Anyone ever made the trip to Omaha by RV? We’re planning our trip this year and looking for a nice RV park to stay at with good proximity to the ballpark. Any recommendations appreciated.
TIA

Don't pinch hit the bullpen catcher in the the 7th inning down 4 runs.

You're gonna have to thumb through a bunch of idiotic replies about LSU and PM sucking but I hope you get some good advice in between.

If you make it 3 scoreless innings with a relief pitcher starting, and then he loads the bases, you’re gonna have a bad time.

Difficult subject as we have no chance this year. Hard to talk about Omaha right now. Search old posts.

Don’t put a pitcher in the game when you don’t even know his name when you are still in the said game.

We drove and stayed at an RV park right across the river in Council Bluffs.

We would then drive the RV to the casino and park in their big parking lot, walk through the casino to the main lobby and get on their free shuttle to and from the park

If you are renting an RV, get it as close as you can to Omaha. I know a group of guys that rented one in New Orleans and drove it up.

Their complaints:
1) They were excited to get there but had to watch their friends and other LSU fans leave them in the dust and get to Omaha much sooner.

2) They had a certain amount of miles included in the initial rental fee. They went over and paid a lot of money that was an unexpected expense.

3) The gas expense had them starting to count out change half way back to NO.

They said if they ever do it again they will drive in cars as far as possible and then rent the RV.

I'm pretty sure they stayed in Iowa and drove the RV to the old ballpark to tailgate every day.

We went in 2015 in an RV. We stayed in the RV Lot at the Harrahs. It is just across the river and the have shuttles that will run you to the Stadium. Very easy and convenient. 5-10 minute ride but you will have to cab back which is still easy and convenient.

You’ve come to the wrong place. We haven’t been regulars in some time. Most of those old timers are long gone and any advice given will be long outdated. I suggest finding a reputable Florida or Vanderbilt board to post this question on

Even though baseball has changed and all this is my advice seems THEY can get there regularly. Even though that’s an impossible feat according to the Pawl lovers.

haven't been to the new park. the old park had a nice RV lot down below the left field fence....not much help i know. but looking at an aerial map looks be a large parking lot across the street. maybe not for RV's.......but in years where LSU or a local team isn't in it, usually a small turnout so just park in there!

Either get there the first Friday and leave Wednesday or go up there just for the championship series.

The Wednesday and Thursday sucks bad since there is just one game. There is two games on Friday but a possibility that there are no games on that second Saturday or Sunday. There is a ton of down time and it gets boring and expensive.

I traveled to the CWS in A. Nola's last year. I really thought they had a chance that year, but they lost their first two games. I scheduled two weeks of vacation to go there to watch the entire tournament (and hopefully the championship series) only to see them ousted so quick. I can't say I even enjoyed the games they played in because it was some low scoring, boring games.

As far as any advice about going there, I don't know anything about RV parks. We stayed in a cheap hotel, which works out great because you aren't in your room most of the time anyway. About the only good advice I can give is they have a cool ticket system there that you can buy and sell seats for upcoming games. For instance, you think you are going to win the first matchup so you would be playing in game #6 of the CWS. You can buy those tickets ahead of time, but the best thing to do is wait until the very last second before the start of the game to buy the tickets because if a UCLA fan bought the game #6 tickets thinking they would be in that game but are not, you can scoop up behind the dugout or home plate tickets for cheap.

If you are doing the general admission tickets, go wait in line at least 5 hours prior to the game time if you want a decent seat.
