it’s a good thing louisiana doesn’t require id to vote.

There's no way that Louisiana doesn't have more "restrictive" voting laws than Georgia. It's a way more conservative state as well.

3 million Americans do not have photo ID.
Most of those are people who do not want to be identified.
The idea that black people can't get ID is the most ridiculous fairy tale since "Russian Collusion."

Will, we have to show ID to vote.
Your faux outrage is laughable

We wouldn't have any black politicians if people had to show ID to vote.

FYI, governors don't write laws.

After the last year are you really arguing that lawmakers still have more power than governors?

I bet they did background checks that required photo ID for everyone who is working on that movie.

I still have not gotten anyone to produce a single person who has been denied the right to vote in states with voter ID laws.

The ID argument is just a smoke screen. The dipshits on the radio this morning stated that the biggest grievances of SB 202 are:
the limits on how many drop boxes each county can have, how many hours and days the boxes can be open, and where they can be located. reduction of voting early voting ballot boxes from 38 to 8 in Fulton County
making it a misdemeanor to give out food and water to voters waiting in line.
reducing the time frame ballot boxes are open (accessible) from 24 hours to during business hours
The truth of the matter is that SB 202 just rolled back some of the provisions that were made due to COVID but, because Fulton County is disproportionately affected by the changes, and a bunch of crazy people have convinced a bunch of stupid people that it is racially motivated.

Couple of things-
How many ballot drop boxes were there in 2018? Zero.
It’s always been illegal to give out anything of value within 150’ of a polling place; in fact, I believe that’s a federal law. You can give out anything you wish outside that 150’ buffer.

I've seen this argued a time or two. I don't buy it. Dems have been staunchly against voter ID laws for a while now. If they can use other parts of the bill to get it stopped, they will.

JBE won based on metro statistics, police in his back pocket, and being a former army ranger.
I still can't fathom how he won a second term.

I always find it ironic that politicians say poor people can't get ID's but poor people have to show ID to get government benefits

It's not a smokescreen because Georgia already had a voter ID law in place. The only people making it an argument over voter ID that I've seen are conservatives.
I think some of the reactions to the law have been grossly overblown, but I really haven't seen many liberals/progressives call it a voter ID law.
