Jonathan Crompton just stared down his WR and threw an int similar to Lee's from Saturday. Maybe some of you guys should give Lee a break and realize it was his first game as a college QB. Crompton is a 5* jr QB and he makes mistakes like that.
Russell made a few boneheaded throws during his Jr year at LSU as well. Flynn made more than enough poor throws last season (think of his inability to read Bama's D last year). I think Lee will be fine once he gets a few games under his belt and I think this offense won't drop off from last year's production.

I think both QB's did well for their first significant action. Both should improve as they get experience.

Lee needs to be given the reigns to this team.

Lee looks really good, but to give him the reigns is way to premature. Let's let them duke it out and we will see who will emerge. I like Hatch's presence myself. I like how calm and cool he is. However, I do like the quick release that I have seen from J.Lee. Most of all, I like the wheels on Hatch. Either way, I support them both.

We should support them both because you never know when we may need one when the other gets banged up as does happen in the SEC from time to time.
We are in for a 2 QB rotation it looks like for a while, and the only question is who will start, and who will relieve.

The awarding of Hatch the starting Qb based on his composure and the competition level made sense. Thereafter, it was obvious that the objective of yesterday was to give Lee, even though he looked like a nervous 9th grader for his first few series, as many reps as possible. As such, it seems that Crowton's obejective is to hedge his bets with Hatch as the starter and Lee as the prime QB by the time we get to Auburn. After that point, it will be a 2 Qb system based on the game situation and the opponent. JJ may not play at this pace (or very little), as Crowton needs to get Hatch and Lee as many reps as possible to prepare for the Auburn game. Expect more of the same in the next 2 games. Lee will need these 3 games to gain composure and to shed his tunnel vision. Hatch will continue to show the dual threat and steady hand that will be needed throughout the season if Lee's learning curve is slower than we would like/need.

Russell RS Freshman year, I can agree with. To try and equate russell JR year to Lee is a bit of a stretch.

I think Lee is the ultimate answer...but from what I could tell from Saturday, he only has a grasp of about 40% of the offense.

After that performance, Tennessee fans would be happy to have either Hatch or Lee at QB. (Of course they would also like to have any OC other than Clawson right about now. Absolutely unbelievably bad job of play calling for all but 2 drives in the entire game.

Makes you wonder what all the excitement was about when Tennessee hired a new OC.

from my view of the field both Hatch and Lee will have ample time to mature behind that brick wall of an O line you guys have. i know we were small but 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 QB hurry doesn't show up on our D stats very often. i hope you guys go undefeated and unscored on the rest of the way. thanks for having us down.
