Jamaica banned all civilian guns a few decades back due to their high murder rate. They backed it up with special police, special prosecutors and special jails. Their homicide rate was around 20/100,000 then.
Last I notice it was up to 45/100,000 with the primary weapons being machetes and gangs of young thugs.

Trinidad is second in the Caribbean, and we have the same restrictive laws as Jamaica. Most of the guns come from Venezuela. Had one Venezuelan in court recently for gun running, judge asked him why and he said he took the cash home to Venezuela for food....Bernie Sanders would be proud.
But 68 from one Auburn man to another I must ask that you get the vernacular correct. In the Caribbean we blast them with chops from a cutlass, not those things they use in Latin America.
And Im serious, the first couple of times I referred to a cutlass as a machete I was laughed at...and corrected. Too funny.
