What is the psychological profile of cowboy boot guy?

I grew up in Shreveport in the 80's and a lot of guys were cowboy boot guy. Seems like there are fewer of them nowadays.
What kind of guy wears cowboy boots every day? Do you have to drive a truck? Kill animals in the wild? Must you have ridden a horse at least once in your life? Is the hat obligatory?

I mean same can be said about someone who wears dress shoes everyday or sneakers.
Some people like the way the fit, some like the way they look.
I wear boots most times because I have to wear steel toes at work and I've become accustomed to the way the fit.
Thry are a pretty good all around foot cover, work in dry and wet weather. Wont get water logged from walking through one puddle of water and they look nice with about any pair of pants.
Now boots with shorts thats a whole different situation

I've never worn boots, but have heard they are comfortable. But I've also been in rural areas where they are similar to tools.
