PM should consider saving Marceaux until Sunday. I am not sure you put your best 2 pitchers up against their best 2 pitchers. Give yourself the best chance of winning 1 0f 3 and if you get 2 0f 3, it’s Lagniappe.

^^this is probably the most logical and intelligent comment or post I have ever read so far, when pertaining to a baseball thread... it’s relieving to finally read something well thought out and sensible; rather than the patented “Paul’s gotta go” or “fire Paul” threads and comments that are posted nonstop. No body ever stops to think or realize that PM is basically trying to compete in lower A ball ((the SEC west this year, lol)) with a squad of kids still wet from HS ball. What did they expect out of this years team; knowing that every position was being fielded by either a freshman or sophomore besides pitching... the past Tennessee series was the biggest showing/example of a very talented yet inexperienced team. Our young team has shown that we have the talent to compete, but winning the 1 run games or games that go into extras, and closing a team out; that comes with experience. I can vividly recall 2 specific plays (both made by a fresh or soph) that if they go our way; we win not only 1 game but we take that series... and sadly that’s the difference in the SEC, those small crucial plays. So I’m not necessarily on the fire Paul bandwagon quite yet, so it’s refreshing to see a well thought out comment that actually offers alternative options/solutions to help our team other than jsut getting rid of Paul.

I get this logic, but Labas just threw 96 pitches on Sunday. I don't see him coming back on that short of rest. We would have had to plan that last weekend. I guess you could go Hill-Labas-Marceaux or Wholestaff-Labas-Marceaux with Hill available in relief on Friday or Saturday, but I'm done with the overthinking. We have to hit to win. Play your best guys, throw your best guys, and let it play out.
