So you are comparing a mobile Qb, who threw the ball too hard (as opposed to too soft) to Lee, a true pocket guy who doesn't run, rather than Hatch, a guy who can run and not really throw?

Maybe we need to go "Herb Tyler" this year, start the Freshmen. I loved Herb and LSU did well with him those years with much less talent. That said I put my trust and support behind our coaches who are a better judge than any rant tard.

Randall played and started numerous times, and never gained anymore composure than he did the previous year.

Randall's mechanics were horrendous...

Yes you do. You take big risks, you get big rewards.

I want more than meritocracy this year.

they were both horrible. even on the completions hatch made, there were always other people open farther down the field 10 or more yards.
As far as lee; lee missed dickson 10 yards away on one play, as far as the int. -even if the lb hadnt been there, his pass wud have been way behind lafell--it was way off target anyways. Plus the other ints he shud have thrown. Plus hatchs' under-throwing.
garbage--we had people open every single play and cud have scored 70 with flynn or even jpw

I thought Hatch was better than Lee. I was disappointed that Jefferson didn't get any play time. Les must think he has no chance to start.

We are going to need better Qback play to beat Auburn, Florida, Georgia, etc.

It doesn't take a Davey O'Brien winner to win a National Championship. Give these guys a break, it was the first start for Hatch and the first action period for Lee. Give them some time. The Wizard will bring them along. We'll be aw'ight. Aw'ight?

Oh, because going with the steady players over bigger talent last year at QB, RB, DT, ect turned out so badly.

Its not meritocracy when you put the best player on the field. Sometimes the best player is the steady least talented player. And at LSU when you are surrounded by talent, those players help you win championships. Less risk bigger reward.

Lee should be our starting QB, he can actually complete passes, unlike Hatch whose passing range is 10 yds or less and will live by the screen.

Lee is better than hatch. Period. More reps will prove that.

Yeah they do, here are the stats from the AU game. There are bigger questions at QB for AU than for LSU.

Name CP/AT YDS TD INT
C Todd 9/18 70 1 1
K Burns 4/9 15 0 0

Lee has gotten as many reps as Hatch when he has been healthy. And he hasn't proven that. That is why Hatch is starting.

He may be better at any point in the future, but he isn't better now, and you play your best QB to win the game this week. This isn't the minor leagues.

To me both qbs played decent. Both have something the other doesn't and it can't be taught. Hatch has running ability that can be great.Lee has a cannon for an arm which is good for the long ball and fitting it into tight spots. It seemed as if both just stared down receivers and never looked past their first read. Its not as bad a situatioas i had thought. The secondary worries me maybe a lttle more than the qbs. Some of Appy's receivers were running wide open at time and if it hadn't been for drops might have scored a few more points.
