I mean there's nothing wrong with following the marvel model.
Have individual super hero movies and then do JL.
I just think they’ve already missed this money train a bit
I think people were already starting to get a little over the super hero thing in general, atleast at the rate they are putting them out now, and with the future of movie theaters up in the air, I could see that bubble bursting pretty hard quicker than you’d think. And not just for super hero movies, but blockbuster/tent pole movies in general

Based on what?
The last 5 MCU movies at the box office were
Spider-Man: Far From Home $1.13 billion
Avengers: Endgame $2.7 billion
Captain Marvel $1.12 billion
Ant-Man and the Wasp $622 million
Avengers: Infinity War $2.04 billion
Minus Ant-Man all of the past five have topped $1 billion and while I doubt Black Widow will, the hype around the next Spider-Man film may get is past a billion based on the pandemic and how many theaters are opened.
Also there's an insane amount of hype and praise coming from The Eternals as Marvel seems to be hard set on keeping it around award season.

Like I mentioned, that money is going to be a lot harder to come by going forward. I think that mixed with an oversaturation of comic book movies (not just talking Marvel/DC), I think there’s gonna be a wall that’s gonna be a tough hit for the whole genre

I'm far from the average underoos-sporting comic book dork, but that looks pretty damned mediocre.

We haven't had an MCU movie since 2019 and it made over a billion. Sure Covid might frick with the numbers but there is no evidence people are getting tired of MCU films

No, but will audiences show up in droves again? I really don't know. It could take a while, so I think Black Widow will suffer because of that.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if this happened. But I think by the time Spider-Man comes out things should be relatively normal and the potential of a spider verse with Tobey and Andrew could just build even more hype. I think it is a strong contender to be the first post Covid billion dollar movie

I’ve heard that for the last 20 years and they keep setting box office records and are more popular than ever. The most streamed show of 2021 thus far is from the MCU.

So we basically said frick it and made another suicide squad movie, entirely uprooted the cast minus one character, and added “The” to the title? Within 5 years of the last one?

To be fair, it sounds like WB learned their lesson from the first abomination.

Studios are going to keep going to that well and the movie industry quality suffers as a whole because of it
How do you figure?
The movie industry has always done this. When something is hot and making money they pile on until it burns out and then they find the next big thing. The industry doesn't suffer. These big budget blockbusters pay for the Indy films and other pet projects.
Examples;
Westerns and War movies 50s-60s
Rebel movies 70s (Easyrider types)
Big over the top 80s action (Stallone, Arnold, Willis, etc)
Teen dramady's in the 90s (every other movie was one of these)
Vampires 90s-00's (literally 100's of these)
10's-current: Toys (Transformers) and comic books (Marvel/DC).
It's what Hollywood does. Other movies are made, but they saturate the market with what pays and when the well runs dry they move on.

Joel Kinnaman, viola Davis, and jai Courtney are also back. So Will Smith is the only main cast member missing. Jay Hernandez, I guess, if you somehow gave a shite about that character.

Maybe complain about another sequel or some other trivial complaint instead because this is a nonstarter. The important characters are back except for Deadshot and Joker.
The Suicide Squad’s lineup changes all the time because.. you guessed it. They die

Why ,when promoting a movie, DC always touts the director first. Characters, stories don't stand on their own? They have to draw people in with the directors name?
Posted on 3/27/21 at 8:15 am to AUCom96
Yep, that looks terrible. And I love margot, but her Harley Quinn is terrible. All the characters in the movie look fat and slow.

By promoting the director, they are promoting how different this one will feel from the previous suicide squad. That movie made a ton of money and was very widely hated by people who saw it. They want to separate the two.

And it's not all Margot's fault. A traditional darker/angrier Harley quinn would have been better. Not spice girl quinn.
