"In America, its easier to buy a gun than cast a ballot!"

Utter bullshite.
Here is my story on how I have tried, and failed, to buy a gun over the past few months.
Since I have a California ID, no one will sell me a gun. I've visited gun shops in Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas; no luck. They all say they would have to go through the California laws to sell me a gun - meaning I have to go through a billion hoops, tests, background checks, then have to buy a CA compliant gun, wait forever, then go pick it up in California. I've read if you are diligent in the process, you can have your gun in 2 months. But, since I don't live in California anymore(and haven't since August) I'd have to arrange travel to go pick it up as well, as well as do all the tests and background checks there too.
Same thing with gun shows. No dealer has the courage to sell me a gun until I get a non-California ID - most of them say they would gladly sell to me if I had an ID from any other state but CA. Some of these supposed 2A defender gun dealers should man up and disobey these stupid laws.
So I go to the DMV to get a Nevada license... nope, you need an appointment because muh COVID. So I go to the Nevada DMV website, no open appointments until July at the earliest. Great! But wait - they say they take walk up appointments on Saturday Mornings only starting at 7am. Awesome. So I wake up early on a Saturday, go to the DMV at 6:45am and all the walk up spots are already full for the day. Thanks for playing! Better camp out with a tent and sleeping bag next time!
California technically doesn't ban you from owning a gun, but they make the process so damn painful and litter it with so many obstacles, most people don't even bother - especially because in the end, the guns you can buy aren't even really worth the trouble.
Meanwhile, anyone can vote in this country easily... democrats and republicans like the Georgia SOS have made it that way.

Maybe - but it’s easier to mail in multiple ballots than to buy ammo for sure

Sounds like none of this would be an issue if you had gotten a new ID right after you moved. I believe Nevada requires you to do so within 30 days of moving.

How long have you been trying to get a new ID? You said they are booked until July. Is that what it said back in august when you moved or is that what it says now?

I lived in Texas from September-December but it was the same issue there - appointment required at DMV, all booked, meaning I had to drive to College Station or Tyler(closest DMVs that had openings) to get a license, plus I didn't have a permanent address in Texas - I stayed with my mom on her ranch after her husband died to help out for a few months. Then I moved to Las Vegas in December. I have no desire to camp out overnight at the DMV to maybe get a spot for a DMV walk in.

Must be a minority...we've been told they cannot figure out how to get id's either.

you must not know about the gun show loop hole.

Tried to buy a 57(Ruger and FN) at a gun show in Fort Worth but all the dealers think I am an undercover cop trying to sting people once they see my CA ID
Tried to find someone walking around selling a gun but no one had what I was looking for

Dead people can't breath either, but they sure can vote.

The first thing you do when you encounter someone who says this is ask them if they would support wiping all gun laws off the books and restricting purchases exactly to the extent that voting is restricted.

Yep...flipped on espn and this was the mantra all day. Easier to buy a gun than the fear of a illegal ballot. We live in a clown world

I just checked their dmv website. Not sure which location you’re closest to, but all of them have available appointments earlier than July. Some April, May, or June depending on your location.

Get on a plane and come down to Texas.

Not in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, etc.

Totally agree it is much easier to vote than purchase a firearm. However, it is illegal in some states to sell handguns directly to individuals who are from out of state (any state, not just CA) without transferring to a FFL in their respective state. Depending on the state, ditto for long guns but varies. There are both state and federal laws here at play that you can’t skirt. Sounds to me like all these FFL did exactly what legally was required of them.
You need a new license that accurately reflects your current state of residence, that will fix all of your firearm related woes. I get that obtaining the license can be difficult. But that is your hang up, not the fault of the dealers you have been dealing with.
