I didn't think I'd play this game, even though I adore all of the other From Software action RPGs. Without the ability to summon players, I was sure that a boss somewhere along the way would be too much for me.
But I finally gave in and tried it. I almost quit several times very early on and I still might not reach the end, but I'm now enjoying it a lot. It's a beautiful, visceral, and elegant game.

Amazing game. What part are you on right now?

SAME. I've kept the game in my backlog for a long time because I was worried I'd hate that you couldn't summon or grind to become super OP. I'm currently waiting until a YouTuber called BlueLizardJello finishes recording/posting his walkthrough before I dive in (I found his Dark Souls walkthroughs to be invaluable).

Game does a good job of discouraging old habits from other fromsoft games. You have to be aggressive and properly utilize parrying. It’s a challenge but it’s manageable.
That said, I have yet to finish the 4 phase final boss. Maybe one day.
I prefer having more choice with my weaponry and build style, but this was a very well constructed game that performed its design goals about as well as one could hope for.

It was my first FromSoft game. I loved it. The hardest fights that took me over 15 times, all just made me better. Looking at you Genchiro and Ape.
The last boss is the greatest fight of my life. If you truly understood everything you learned and didn't cheese your way through it, the fight was insanely satisfying.

i dont think it's even cheeseable. It is one of the best final bosses I've ever fought as well. A true test of your mechanic mastery

It is cheesable by using the umbrella to absorb the pistol bullets and unleash hell on him.

same. doubt it will ever happen for me. would take a total replay to sharpen those skills back up. and i loved the game, but i dont particularly feel compelled to run it back like the souls games.

Do yourself a favor and actually invest the time in beating Sekiro, even when you get discouraged and think you can't do it. One of the best games I've ever played.

Beat it earlier in the year. Probably my favorite From Software game to date. The combat, exploration, lore, etc. was just so satisfying and on point.

My first Platinum trophy game.
I'm older and not nearly the gamer I once was, but I beat that Butterfly bitch, my old man, and that fricking ninja that shot me and threw lighting bolts at me.

I beat the bull the other night, which opened up all kinds of new areas. I've spent a while exploring and soon I will return to working on more of the bosses.
I died on Mme Butterfly's second form but I can probably beat her now that I have a few more upgrades.
I think I kind of subconsciously resented the idea of having to "get good" at the game, in part because I could never parry in the Souls games. But now I've (begrudgingly?) come to find the combat manageable and fun. I especially liked deflecting the bull.

I don't really care for the Souls games but I thought this game was great.

Waiting for it go on sale again to $30 or less. Next game I'll play. Looking forward to it

I'm replaying it now on ps5. I'm at the final boss now and am struggling with him. Check out fightin cowboys sekiro guide. He has a 100% walkthrough that's great.

Yeah, they upped it to 60fps from 30.

I've been hesitant about this. What I like about Dark Souls is that you can level up, try different weapons and different builds. From what I understand, this game has none of that.

Just parry and slash from all I’ve read.

Just get it, trust me. You lose build variety, but you gain tons of mobility and verticality, grapple hook, stealth, a ton of shinobi tools and gear, epic setpiece moments and world design, and the most distilled combat system From has made. It demands that you master it - no grinding and leveling until you can beat up on a boss/enemies in an area. Only way your attack power increases is from defeating bosses. You will face bosses where you’re like “ok I’m never gonna beat this” and then when you master every move and beat his arse, you will feel so satisfied and badass.
Amazing game
