This isn't necessarily political it's just something that keeps me up at nights and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice.
I'm not an economist by any stretch but it just seems to me that there are several things pointing to the crash of the USD and/or devastating inflation.
Does anyone with a little more knowledge in such things agree?
If so what are some ways to leverage or just survive?
Would there be any warning signs that it has started in earnest before things are too far out of reach?
How fast do these things typically accelerate?

That's why the stock market has appreciated so much in terms of dollars.

I've been saving up for some land, and honestly, it's a race between my investments and the price per acre here. So far, my investments are winning.

Inflation is coming big time. A dollar is a representation of some amount of work. The more work produced per dollar the more a dollar will buy. The more dollars the less each dollar will buy. They have the printing presses running full blast so the buying power of your dollar is about to take a steep nose dive. Also known as run away inflation.

You have good reason to be concerned. The probability of a USD meltdown and a “Great Reset” has increased ten fold since the Dims took power.

Don't worry about our gracious representatives in DC, though. They will be fine. Their financial advisors have them all investing in the next big Chinese bubble.

It’s almost like they’re forcing everyone into equities and not only will the dollar be trashed but then they simultaneously pull the plug on the stock market......Great Reset!

The reason people have flocked to equities in the first place are low interest rates.

As long as they keep pumping the dollar higher and higher it will cause equities to outvalue investments denominated in dollars - like bonds.

I was discussing similar topics with some younger folks the other night who are all about the Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Much of it over my head, but they seem convinced it is the way to invest in an asset that is not subject to deflation. Much of it apparently hangs on the cyber currencies' encrypted codes and the anonymity of their creators.

I remain skeptical and think that deep state/big gov and, yes, cabal forces will do everything in their power to gain control of it. Or they will crack the codes, or probably easier, figure out the identities of those who control it and, well, kill them.

Bitcoin is pretty much a polar opposite of gold. It's pretty much the same as a limited edition Hummel collection.

Bitcoin only works if there's an internet. It only spends if there is an internet. And DC wants to control that. Bitcoin's fast and furious days are numbered.

2 things I’m heavily into these days, property and debt! Debt is the cheapest it’s ever been especially considering the insane levels of inflation that are about to be incoming. And property will only appreciate over time, especially rental property, poor people will always need a place to live. I’m constantly looking for ways to over leverage myself, right now particularly. It’s the only way I see myself and my family surviving the crash of the dollar.

The expansion of the M2 money supply is roughly correlated to the rise in the S&P 500, so you can invest in an index fund and avoid the depreciation for the most part, but it would need to be invested before the injection of liquidity is priced into the market

Investing in crypto is a hedge against the very idea of fiat and this has picked up a lot of steam because it seems those in power have a dubious understanding of what fiduciary responsibility is.

This is good info. As I've been considering debt in exchange for land/infrastructure thereon.
I am wondering how rental property would be a buffer in this situation? if someone can just match some ridiculous rate increase (to match inflation) doesn't that imply that you wouldn't be severely impacted either (and still be able to pay your bills/live normally?)

Faith in the American dollar and economy is what keeps the average Joe in line. I expect the people hoping for a national divorce to make their political moves if we see massive devaluation of the dollar because millions who are likeminded won’t have anything left to lose at that point. It’s very scary.

Do you know what cryptography is? What the SHA256 cryptographic hash function does?

Not even China has a good way to control peer to peer BTC transactions. Now, can the exchanges get taken down? Sure. But with all of the institutional interest in the asset class that seems fairly unlikely.

I did a thread on the money board a few days ago, asking the inflation play. I have call options on TMV out until August. I kinda have similar fears, they print money and do their best to make sure it is dished out to the most inefficient producers among us, from blue corrupt state governments to felons. The only way to keep the dollar from crashing is higher interest rates, the federal reserve however will play dumb and do nothing because they are indeed political and not independent as some will argue. They will try to keep the house of cards from falling by printing even more money, I expect Inflation plays to be the way, I just hope I can buy a condo in Costa Rica for my family to escape to before Obama completely ruins our country.

The only thing keeping it up is that other currencies are worse.
