He got Texas Southern into the big dance. Wouldn’t that be interesting if everything aligned and we ended up playing them eventually? You know Johnny would give everything he has to take down LSU.

Did that beautifully as the head coach

No way. Johnny is an agent of LSU.

If Johnny beats Michigan and then hands LSU the second round win I will instantly forgive him for all the wasted talent and poor records during his time as coach.

I honestly don’t think he feels that way.
He played here and coached here as an assistant and head coach.
He’s a Louisiana and LSU guy and we gave him the opportunity of a lifetime. Dream job unfortunately just didn’t work out. I’m sure he wanted the dream to go on longer but he had to understand that you just can’t go 2-16 in the SEC.
Frankly the dude has to regret getting Ben Simmons. He had steady improvement his first three years (though should have done more with the Martin team) but then massive expectations got dumped on him with Simmons. He’d have probably gotten another year or two if he had just continued to try to build a program rather than signing Simmons.

2015-2016 and 2016-2017 were horrible.
Underperforming with Simmons and not even making the postseason, followed by 10-21 with a 15 game losing streak thrown in there.

Kinda like any other coach LSU would be facing to get to the sweet 16... What do you think JJ should do, just forfeit the game since it is LSU ?

Have to beat St. Bonaventure first. They will be tough

Johnny Jones is a Tiger and I wish him all the success unless he is coaching the opposing team.
He wasn't successful at LSU but he is still a good guy IMO.

I mean like it would be personal for him. It’s just an interesting storyline.

'would give everything he has' maybe but he wouldn't know how to do it. Maybe an assistant could help out.
