Need to paint my allweld and put in some hydroturf. Any recs on somebody that does this kind of work. I want the paint to stick good not strip off with every little abrasion or minimal wear and tear. I'm on the northshore, but willing to take it to most of SELA.

my dad and i painted his boat with durabak-18 bed liner. used some aluminum primer first and then painted it with the durabak. turned out pretty good.

you can get it textured or smooth.

What size boat? Do you drink beer?

If it's not a giant boat, and you like to drink beer, I'd advise painting it myself unless you just have a money tree and want to pay someone to....

Bring it to any auto body shop, but make sure they use acid etch primer or epoxy primer on the bare aluminum.

Northshore, I'd say take it to Car Craft, Pike's, or Katore's.

Try local body shops but you should make sure they know they have to use self etching paint on aluminum or an etching primer first

I just rattle canned my 14ft and 20ft flats in a Flat Dark Earth cammo years ago. I used Krylon. Has been holding up great for over 5 years now. Touching it up is cheap and easy too

Shallow Water Customs. Look him up on Facebook or Instagram. Pretty sure he has a website too. Will do solid colors or some pretty sweet camo patterns. Located in Ponchatoula. He’s a custom boat builder but does mods, painting, hydro turf, gator glide, etc.

Camo designs in Lafayette does a great job. They are painting my boat this week. I have seen several boats Walter has painted they all hold up really well. Look them up on Facebook.

please don’t bring it to us (body shops). We don’t want to mess with something that we have to gather everyone in shop to flip it over and put on stands. Take it to boat place.

ETA: also, we (body shops) know how to paint aluminum. We’ve been doing it for years. We don’t need joe customer coming to “make sure we use...”
