Seriously, it's Appy State and there is nothing to gain from playing this game. If anyone gets injured while playing a D2 opponent, it would be a shame.

Sure, I want to see what Hatch is capable of, but other than that, this game is not intriguing...

I have two lines of thought on this:

1) Every LSU game is important, but if this game is canceled it's not a big deal.

2) Hurricanes should be taken seriously, but an onset of panic 5-6 days before landfall is downright ridiculous.

Well, Troy would be a less desirable first game.

Typically, teams are sloppy in their first game. The old bromide is that the greatest improvement takes place between games one and two. LSU would be playing their initial snaps against a relatively talented Troy team that would be playing its second game, putting LSU at somewhat of a disadvantage.

I don't think we would lose, but it might make the game more challenging.

To trash someone on espn that beat Michigan infront of some recruits is pretty important to me. But i see your point.

Of our first 3 games, the Appy game is the MOST important. They run the spread.

"You are not a very knowledgable fan."

Actually, I'm quite knowledgeable. You didn't articulate why I'm unknowledgeable.

You are a stupid fan. There.

Hey DB, my tailgating group of 50+ has been planning this tailgate for 6+ months. Yea it is a big deal.

It IS an LSU home game, the opponent dont matter. Ask the other thousands of die hard tailgaters if its a big deal............!!

meaningless game?

ummm we have a untested qb and secondary that we need to get ready before AU. It would def hurt us not to get this game in.

Here is my articulation on why.

We play Auburn on 9/20. We need as many games prior to that as possible. Especially one that runs the spread. Wasn't trying to bash you, just seemed like a silly statement that you made.

And since you want to put it that way:

That's not the correct term. "I couldn't care less" is correct.

It would hurt us in the computer rankings as well as in the minds of voters who would say to themselves, "well, LSU has really had an easy schedule, even getting to skirt Appy St."

it's not like they're just gonna call the game off, we'll still play them eventually...better now than during our off week

We still play Troy and North Texas before the Auburn game. We don't need 3 "preseason" games.

The game wouldn't be canceled, just rescheduled which would take away our bye week and screw up our season like 2005. Not to mention this is the prime opportunity to get our QBs ready for Auburn. I can't see why anyone would want this game canceled

Dignan, don't nobody give 2 shits how you feel. Leave the t.v. off and don't go to the game if that is your opinion. STFU while you're at it.

Then why did you call App St a division 2 team?

Calling me unknowledgeable is a bash, dumbass.

Why play 3 preseason games before Auburn? This game brings down our SOS which is a component in some of the computer polls factored into the BCS standings.

Nothing to gain by playing Appy State.

I'm not sure anyone wants it canceled. Maybe Appy State fans.
