I don't think it's laser, handtimed probably by TTU assistants.
Sub 4.4 would be impressive. If he can run that at his eventual Pro-Day, that would go a long way in solidifying him as a top talent. I just haven't really seen that elite speed from him watching their games, but there are plenty of guys that don't look as fast as they are.

Ok, he wasn't a JUCO transfer or anything, but I found this on wikipedia:
So let me get this right...he never even played WR competitively until last season? Holy shite...

Crabtree attended David W. Carter High School in Dallas and played quarterback for the football team. As a senior, he passed for 870 yards and eleven touchdowns on 45 completions out of 100 attempts. He also ran for 646 yards and nine touchdowns on 100 carries. He was a four-star football recruit as an athlete.

I wouldn't take Robo until mid second. Early third most likely.

I've thought for a while now that some team might try to turn him into a pass-catching TE at the NFL level.

I have no problem with that ranking.

Even then that leaves you as a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

I just don't think he's guaranteed a Top 10 pick... especially at 6'1".
He's listed at 6'3" and has speed. I've heard pro scouts love him, personally, I dont like taking a WR in the frist round at all, let alone top 10. I was trying to point out to the guy that has his panties in a wad about Robiske being in Kiper's top 10, that it doesn't matter, cause Kiper doesn't rank underclassmen, so his current big board is basically worthless until after the deadline for underclassmen to declare, which is what, Jan. 15?

From a purely football standpoint I think you would only really WANT to take OT, QB, DE, CB in the first.
Next choices being G, S, DT.
That team probably wouldn't sell many jerseys though.

Early's production in games in which he is healthy is more than adequate for his draft status.
go look up his stats going into the 2007 season and say that again with a straight face

because of conditioning recent times hve him clocked at 4.38

yeah, maybe if he's drafted by Detroit, then he'll fade to.....

"cause of conditioning recent times hve him clocked at 4.38"
that actually sounds about right. i don't see why that is so hard to believe.

Crabtree's the real deal. I know he plays in a crazy pass happy system but he has great hands, and I'm not sure about a 4.3 40 time but watching him he just pulls away from defenders in the Big XII.

I would be very surprised if he's a legit 6'3". He doesn't look it... I was actually thinking his 6'1" coming out of high school was pretty believable.
As for his 4.38, like I said... if that's a true time then that's impressive compared to what he looks like on the field. I honestly would have been suprised with any number below about 4.45. I would have guessed right about 4.5.

dude, I think he's talking about Robiskie, he mixed them up, he thought you meant Robiskie is 6'1".

just curios though Stagg, you say when you look at Crabtree on the field, he doesn't look that fast, but he's running away from people, so.....

I've seen him run some excellent routes... he's got really good change of direction. But I certainly don't label him a burner the likes of a Joey Galloway, Dante Stallworth, or Randy Moss sort of guy. Like I said... I would have guessed somewhere in the 4.5 range. Not slow by any means... and he would be outrunning the average CB, safety, or LB in the Big XII.
